Shardkeep is a free software project maintained by David Paiva. This page covers this website, the documentation at docs.shardkeep.gg, the install script, and what the Shardkeep software itself sends anywhere.
These websites
- No cookies, no analytics, no tracking, and nothing loaded from other sites: fonts and images are served from here.
- If you pick a light or dark theme, your choice is kept in your browser’s local storage. It is never sent anywhere.
- Both sites are static pages hosted on GitLab Pages. To serve and protect them, GitLab processes your IP address and request details in its access logs, as described inGitLab’s privacy statement. We do not receive those logs.
The install script and releases
install.sh and Docker download Shardkeep’s release files and container images from GitLab (gitlab.com and registry.gitlab.com), so GitLab sees the address of the machine you install on. We see nothing.
The Shardkeep software
- Shardkeep sends no telemetry.
- A Controller fetches the signed software and plugin catalog from catalog.shardkeep.gg once an hour. It is served by Cloudflare, which sees your Controller’s IP address; the server that builds the catalog keeps no logs of who fetches it.
- When you install software or plugins, they are downloaded from their publishers (such as Mojang, PaperMC, PurpurMC, Modrinth and Hangar), which see the address of the machine that downloads them.
- Starting a Controller with
-offlineturns all of this off. - Everything your Shardkeep install stores, including your players’ names and addresses in server logs, stays on your machines. You are responsible for it, and we never see it.

Our Discord server and GitLab project are run on those platforms under their own privacy policies.
